Cargo flexibility also improves in the 2026 Mazda CX-5. While the 2025 Mazda CX-5 offers 30.9 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, the redesigned model ups that number to 33.7. Additionally, the cargo hold has a wider opening, making it easier to load larger items.

A New Infotainment System and Cabin Layout

One of the most noticeable changes in the 2026 Mazda CX-5 is the updated interior technology. The 2025 Mazda CX-5 uses a 10.25-inch display controlled by a rotary dial, while the 2026 Mazda CX-5 introduces a 12.9-inch touchscreen interface. Powertrain Changes and What Stays the Same

The 2026 Mazda CX-5 continues to use a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 187 horsepower, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard i-Activ AWD®. However, one of the biggest changes is the removal of the turbocharged engine that was available in the 2025 Mazda CX-5.
